Please pray for my friend

Hey Guys,

I want to ask all of you to pray for my friend Misty back in Texarkana. She was in an accident early last week and broke her neck. The doctors had to put a screw into her C2 vertabrae and she'll be in a neck brace for a couple of months. She's a really sweet girl and I know she'd appreciate the prayers. She was about ready to start her last semester of nursing school, so this naturally is going to put her behind schedule. Please pray for her recovery and for God's will with her schooling to be fulfilled.

There's really not a lot of interesting stuff going on in my life at the moment. Work has gotten easier naturally since Christmas is over BUT at the same time, that just means the pressures to keep performance high have grown. One great thing that has happened is that I am going to be promoting at least one, if not two of my package handlers into better positions. FedEx seems to think highly of managers who are able to mold and promote their employees and in my nearly three years, I have gotten the priveledge of promoting, five people, and now it may go to six (one of the five is probably getting another promotion, so we'll see). Yes in the short term it hurts, but at the same time, who am I to hold anyone back? I was held back by a back-stabbing ego-maniac for over a year and didn't know it until after the fact. Then, when I got a new boss, I was promoted within four months. It's all worked out well :) I owe a lot to Kile and Kim because they opened a lot of doors for me back in Texarkana.

My small group Bible study reconvenes this week. I am looking forward to it. I made the decision to get more involved with the church this year, and I look forward to the growth that I can experience. We're going to be studying a book called "Celebration of Discipline" which I think deals with different Christian disciplines. Should be an interesting study. I will probably even lead the discussion on a couple of these.

Anyway, I hope that y'all are all doing well. Things here are great.

God Bless,
Greg
